Made To Move are sports rehabilitation and injury specialists with the aim to help you move more, pain-free.

In many cases, other practitioners tend to focus only on the injury they are presented with. Although this can be a quick and effective method of treating an injury, it fails to acknowledge the underlying cause for the injury and contributing factors that affect injury recovery and performance improvement.

At Made to Move, we combine sports therapy and strength and conditioning practices to provide a more comprehensive approach to treating your injuries and improving your overall performance. The services provided can suit a wide range of clientele, from fitness enthusiasts looking to achieve a specific performance goal to those that suffer from daily aches and pains caused by poor posture and repetitive tasks such as prolonged desk work and manual handling. Take a look below to learn more about the services we provide.

What is Sports Therapy?

Sports Therapy uses a wide range of techniques used in the process of rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and is used to uncover the root causes for the initial injury, the treatment of that injury and ongoing exercises to provide long term prevention of future injuries. The use of Sports Therapy practices are not limited to just sports enthusiasts, everyone can benefit from the loosening of stiff muscles, painful joints and improved posture. We also understand that everybody is different and so are the triggers and recovery methods for each injury.

Sports therapy can help you restore movement ability, rehabilitate a persistent ache, pain or injury from your sport or occupation. Sports therapy is not just a rehabilitative tool, it can also provide you with the tools and knowledge to assist in the prevention of a potential injury from occurring.

What is Strength & Conditioning?

Strength and Conditioning is more than lifting weights – it encompasses developing physical and psychological development of the individual athlete. Strength and Conditioning utilises a short and long term performance programming to improve performance, movement quality and reduce injury risk training based on the holistic needs of the individual. This is based on developing a deep understanding of the physical activity, sport, occupation, culture and the relationships of all those involved to incorporate, build trust and add value.

Many sports enthusiasts focus their training around specific exercises that achieve a particular result e.g a weight lifter building strength or a runner who is aiming to run longer distances. Although this will achieve the goal they desire, they tend to overlook other factors that affect their performance such as improving back and hip strength for better stability. By missing these vital factors, they run a much higher risk of developing injuries during training and competition. At Made to Move, our therapists bridge the gap between Sports Therapy and Strength and Conditioning to provide you with an individualised programme that acknowledges the commitments outside of your chosen sport to help you achieve your goal. This is including but not limited to; the development of speed and agility, strength, flexibility, endurance, and injury prevention strategies.
